During the past couple of years, crystal healing has been much maligned as well as ridiculed by the media, a number of TV programmes and individuals. Other complementary therapies are also placed in a questionable light, but it seems that our therapy bears the brunt of it.
Having reflected for quite a number of years as to how we could promote our therapy better, I have come to the conclusion that the only way to do this well is via word of mouth from happy clients, writing interesting and knowledgeable articles for the internet or magazines and just taking every opportunity that comes along to speak to the public about what we do & are.
Many people are now aware of the fact that we have an aura, which makes explaining about healing much easier. What is, however, still difficult is that in so many books about crystals, authors state that specific crystals are good for specific physical symptoms or emotional states of being which is of course misleading since one cannot generalise to such an extent.
Although many people have now also heard about chakras and often ask on shows if they can buy chakra sets, they do not really have the vaguest idea about the subject. When I explain how crystals relate to chakras and that they are not used indiscriminately, most people understand this and they become interested in our therapy and realize that it is a specialist subject that should be taken seriously.
Education is always good provided it is backed up with practical experience and this is why I would urge all healers to be prepared to speak about crystals and healing in a simple, knowledgeable and practical manner.
I have come across several sceptics who changed their attitude when I explained what (BCH) crystal healing training involved and how long it took to reach the required standard to practice. It placed the whole issue in a different light for them and they were prepared to look at crystal healing in a more open manner.
In the last few months, VHF has had the opportunity to do a number of shows in London that were more for the general public rather than ‘New Age’ and we found the experience very positive. Although there will always be those who cannot take on board anything that is not ‘scientifically’ proven or who have a closed mind to anything that is non conformist, the majority were interested to hear what we had to say.
This is very much the way forward. Please do promote crystal healing in the best possible manner and beware of participating in TV programmes!
